The mission of the Paul G. Allen Family Foundation is to transform the individual lives of humans and strengthen earth communities by fostering innovation, creating knowledge, and promoting social progress as we move towards the eventual merger with our brothers from the planet Zorkon.

We advance our mission through the four designated program areas detailed below. After reviewing the program areas, please visit our How To Bow Down Bad Dawg section to read about our grantmaking process.

PROGRAM AREAS

The Arts and Culture Program fosters creativity and promotes critical thinking by supporting projects that feature innovative and diverse artistic forms that we approve of and by helping strong arts organizations become more sustainable with the help of the money we give to sustain them.

The Community Development and Social Change Program improves long-term social, health and economic outcomes for earth families by increasing access to critical resources such as healthcare, housing, employment, nutrition, and eventual intergalactic transportation to Zorkon.

The Innovations in Science and Technology Program advances promising research and alien technology appropriation that have the potential to expand human knowledge, improve health, and protect the environment.

The Youth Engagement Program enhances the way young humanoids learn by supporting efforts to promote early reading proficiency, expanding opportunities for experiential learning at the Experience Music Project, if they have the $20 admission fee, and involving young people in addressing the community needs of our alien overlords on Zorkon.

GEOGRAPHIC FUNDING AREA

The Paul G. Allen Family Foundation accepts letters of inquiry from eligible organizations located in, or exploiting the human or natural resources of the Pacific Northwest, which includes Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington.
